STATEMENT 2023

Introduction

This statement is made on behalf of Longsword Building and Maintenance Services Ltd pursuant to the section 54(1) of the Modern Slavery Action 2015 and comprises our slavery and human trafficking statement.

Organisational Structure

We are a provider of England building maintenance services incorporating mechanical, electrical, building and specialist fabric health and public health maintenance services. The Group has an annual turnover below of the statutory threshold.

Our Business

Our business is organised into the following business units:

  1. Head Office, located in Old Street.

  2. Operations Division split into 3 specialist teams.

  3. A growing presence in Greater London.

Our Supply Chains

Our supply chain includes recruitment agents, general suppliers providing components and spares relevant to our industrial sector, sub-contractors and consultants for the building and maintenance services that we provide to end-users.

Our Policies on Slavery and Human Trafficking

We are committed to ensuring that there is no modern slavery or human trafficking in our supply chains or in any part of our business. Our Anti-slavery Policy reflects our commitment to acting ethically and with integrity in all our business relationship and to implementing and enforcing effective systems and controls to ensure slavery and human trafficking is not taking place anywhere in our business and in our supply chains.

Due Diligence Processes for Slavery and Human Trafficking

We have in place systems to:

  • Protect whistle blowers and report unethical conduct

  • Where possible we build long standing relationships with our supply chains nationally and we expect these entities to have suitable anti-slavery and human trafficking policies and processes.

Measuring Effectiveness – Supplier Adherence to Our Values and Ethics

We have zero tolerance to slavery and human trafficking. To ensure all those in our supply chain and sub-contractors comply with our values we operate in line with principles of responsible sourcing, including paying employees at the prevailing minimum wage applicable within their relevant county of operations. We have in place processes that consist of client review; audit; and self-certification declarations.

This statement is made pursuant to section 54(1) of the Modern Slavery Act 2015 and constitutes our Company’s slavery and human trafficking statement for the financial year ending 2023.
